I re-commenced writing songs in late September 2024, spending the autumn and winter building up another collection of over thirty new tunes.

It was important to enjoy the songwriting and recording process, and to not be too concerned about the final publication and associated algorithmic promotional nonsense.

Living in the 'musical moment' allowed me to develop a sound and workflow that kept me interested long enough to finish the tracks.

Quarter To Sunrise was released on June 22nd, 2025. It is available to stream or download at Bandcamp and all major outlets.

Like the previous album Borrowing Power From The Mill, the songs that make up Happy Medium were largely composed in October 2023, when I opted to write and record music every day for a month.

The Happy Medium songs were held back for further work and refinement, which took place over the following winter and spring.

Having the luxury of working with a group of over twenty tracks meant I was able to drop the songs that didn't fit the project, leaving a further dozen tunes in the vault for another day.
